Although I haven't been blogging much, I've been a busy bee - I signed up to a gym to try it out for this month, so I have been going there pretty much daily. I also have finished my first six squares for the Knit a Squillion action, for which I committed to knit 25 squares this year.
These squares are perfect for using up leftover yarns. The purple and grey squares are the remains of Junghans Opal yarn held double: the grey was previously called the Grey Monster and the purple is leftovers from my Hotpants (now done, watch this space for photos!) I cast on 32 stitches on 6 mm needles and knit every row untill I had a square. Perfect knit night knitting!
The black square is made from Novita Flip Flop, an acrylic yarn partly made out of recycled plastic bottles. It's bulky weight, so I cast on 33 stitches on the same needles, but the square came out a bit too big. Not dramatically, just a centimetre or so, but for the seventh square (cast on last night) I cast on only 31 stitches.
Have you been making any progress? Please share your squares in the comments or on my Facebook page!
PS: I've also updated my 2011 charity list with these squares!

Thank you! They are indeed quite thick, soft and warm, too!
