Welcome to the part two of my FO hat show, where I present two more of my recent FO hats! In the first part I showed you one hat for my MIL and one for chcarity. Of these next two hats one went to my MIL, too, and the other one to my colleagues to-be-born-any-day-now son.
The red cloche is the one for my MIL. It's made using Ysolda's pattern Ripley, a lovely hat which I have already knit once before. I knit it on 5 mm needles with Lana Grossa Linea Pura Organico, an aran weight organic, lovely and soft cotton yarn. I worked the medium size of the pattern.
I think the result is lovely, if a bit on the tight side. My MIL liked it though, so that's a win!
My colleaue's (and his wife's, of course) son hasn't been able to try his hat on yet, but should be soon - there's about a week to go to the calculated day! It's made with Novita 7 Veljestä yarn, a thick sock yarn with wool and nylon. The pattern is the Umblical Cord hat , a pattern which I have knit over and over again for presents for babies. I worked 70 stitches around to make up for the gauge difference - I worked the hat on 4 mm needles.
I've made one more hat for my MIL, and hope to post about it soon - but after that I'm done with hats for a while! I've started a bigger project, too, but more about that later..!
