I've been knitting hard lately, but bigger things (except for the Mouse Mitt ) and haven't had so many FOs to show. Well, I'll show my works in progress then.

As you know, I do not only knit and sell shirts, but also classify myself as an animal welfare activist. If anyone in my readership feels for animals as well, here's some quick actions for you:

First, the Irish fur farming scandal. No-one I know in Ireland wants to have the 6 fur farms that operate here, and thousands have signed a petition and it has been delivered to the Ministry of Agriculture. However, see what they respond in a letter:

We do not only have interest to knitting, but animal welfare too. This is such a good idea from the World Society for the Protection of Animals:

Nara are planning on starting a campaign against foie gras in Dublin. As I think foie gras (ducks/goose's pathological, fatty liver) is the most stupid and cruel thing one could eat, I searched the menupages.ie for restaurants that serve this shit in and around Dublin. You couldn't believe how many I found, and I didn't even go trough every menu! See the list after the jump.

finished and sent off some Calorimetries and a cat bed to Ompelukerho . I got the Calorimetries' designers approval for making several of them and selling them for charity. The cat bed might be given as a present to an animal shelter (based on Princess Snowball catbed from S'n'B Handbook).

I hope they get some money for the animals with my knits!

Animals across the world are being held captive, killed, tortured, used for human pleasure, denying them all chance of living like an animal, but rather forced to live as humans decide. Caged, locked to place, travelling... 

Please, if you have not yet done so, sign the Animals Matter petition. The petition is for a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare, which is an agreement among people and nations that animals are sentient and can suffer, to respect their welfare needs and to end animal cruelty for good.

On the 4th of  October the blogsphear protests for a free Burma, where civilians and even monks are shot and people are living in the daily fear of death. This since 1989!
